Wild Boomer Women is an instant community of girlfriends, events and activities for women over 40.  At this time in our lives, there are so many changes that affect us. Divorce, Death, Empty Nest Syndrome, Taking Care of our Aging Parents, Moving to a New Neighborhood or New State, Starting Over, Losing a Job or Starting a New One and Still trying to figure out what we want to be when we grow up.

How do you cope with all the stress?

If you’re lucky, you have girlfriends to turn to. Perhaps your girlfriends are too busy dealing with their own lives. Maybe you’ve been too busy to even think about making new girlfriends, let alone figure out how to do it.

I had the same issues.

A recent divorce after 20 years of marriage, loss of a parent and dealing with the illness and living situation of the other parent living across the country, dating again, a new relationship, a breakup, moving and trying to figure out what to be when I finally grow up. All in a span of 18 months.

I decided I needed new girlfriends.

I loved the old friends, but they were either married, living elsewhere or didn’t really like to do much beyond going to dinner and a movie. I needed much more.  And, since life is much more fun with girlfriends, I created Wild Boomer Women.  I posted our group on a Monday, and by Friday we had over 100 members and were over 200 members by the end of the month!  That was May 2008 and we are growing every day.

The only requirements for joining us is a desire to have fun, a sense of adventure and an openness to making new girlfriends.  Come to one of our events and you'll wonder why it took you so long.
